In the above video the first rider didn't keep his head back as he left the ramp, which disoriented him and he accidently although instinctively allowed his feet to slip off the pegs. Because he was still pulling when this happened, and the size of the jump was very small, he slipped off and landed back on the takeoff ramp.

In the second jump, the rider waits a little too long to look back, and by doing this he doesn't throw his weight back soon enough and doesn't rotate all the way. The basic rotation and shifting of weight is correct.

The third rider does everything correctly, and because he pulls so hard (and the jump is so small) he actually over rotates and has to lean over the front of the XR50 to slow the rotation and to keep himself from looping out .

In the above video, Steve Wagner (the author), practices a flip into Chuck Carother's foam pit.
