Days 5
July 4th
This ended up being a very relaxing, chill, and fun day for us. We were lazy this morning and just got up and made some bacon and egg's at Amber's place. Then Dan and I went for a walk into town so he could get some coffee. I grabbed a Gatorade and we found a quiet place to sit and chill.

After that we went for an epic e-bike ride all over town....

We ended up on the pier so we thought we should take a picture.

Amber, Bry, Dan, Me. Our gang is known as the
"Crooked Camera Rejects."

The Atlantic Ocean as viewed from the pier.
Shark fun.

After a little exploring, we had some spare time so
Amber thought it'd be a great idea to assemble her new chair...

We thought it'd be a great idea to watch her...

Then it was time for a Jeep ride.

Rob's Jeep is of unspecified age, the radio only plays
one station, and has a custom, plier-operated ignition.
The weather was fantastic and driving around town for
a few hours was a good way to relax.

Rob took us to this old marina on the intracoastal
waterway. That's when we met Al...

Al is....well, I'm not sure what you would call Al. A
drifter? A novice sailboat enthusiast? A free spirit with no ties? A
genious? Al is fixing up this old sailboat with plans to depart NC
and head to the Bahamas before a global, thermonuclear war begins.
Oh, and Al claims his sailing skills are entry-level at best. If he
has to, Al said that he would "have to go there and kill
everybody." We love Al.

We sat and talked to Al for a while, even leaving to
go buy a six pack to bring back with us and continued with the stories...

Eventually we made it back home, made some steak, went out for a bit where there were fireworks displays, live music, and good people. The below pic was taken while watching fireworks from the beachhouse that belonged to a local bar owner that Rob is buddies with.

We made it back to Amber's house by 11 and the night
is coming to an end. Now I'm just winding down and preparing to fly
back to Indiana tomorrow to get Dan back to his wife and kids. It's
now about 12:30am on July 5 and I'm ready for bed.
