Oklahoma City 2022
So a little while back I saw that a few bands that I'm into were playing a show in Oklahoma City on the last Saturday of July. I had the weekend off and could drive there in about five hours, or fly there in less than two? Easy choice.
My GF Kamera came along and here's some of the pics that she took:

The "before we leave pic" taken with the
plane out of the hangar and on the taxiway at KLXT. I know, I know.
My hair is grey AF.

After taking off, we called Kansas City Approach
Control and picked up an IFR plan. Once I got my clearance, I climbed
up through this pretty solid overcast layer (if I'm remembering
correctly the bases of the clouds were 3,000-5,000 feet or so). Once
up to 8,000 feet and on top of that cloud deck, we got this picture.

It was solid IFR on the way there, but we ended up
between layers at our cruise altitude of 8,000 feet.

Rocking our IFR cruise between cloud layers.

Once got south of the KC metro area, the clounds began
to thin out. That's the Emporia, KS airport in the lower part of the frame.

This picture was taken at the airport FBO just after
doing my preflight for our flight home. Specifically, here I'm
verifying the METAR (Meteorological Terminal Air Report) at Lee's
Summit and confirming it would be VFR (although marginal in some
places) when we got home. This was basically to be sure that I
wouldn't need to file an IFR flight plan before going out to the plane.
That's basically it. I don't think Kamera got any pics really on the flight home. We also went to the OKC Bombing Memorial / Museum before heading to the airport on that Sunday. We had a nice VFR flight home that was a little quicker. Basically it was 2 hours there on Saturday, 1hr 45min home on Sunday.
